Snowing heavily but they've downgraded the total accumulation for us. Was 18-24" yesterday and now they're saying 12-18". Hard to tell because of the wind drifting it in places but looks like we've got about 4-6" already and it's supposed to go all day long. Good news is that we still have power so keeping fingers crossed that holds. We do have a generator but it's so much nicer not to have to use it. Very glad to be able to work from home! Stay safe those of you who are still being affected!

Rare Apology.

At nightfall on Monday, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter declared a snow emergency — ordering that parked cars be moved to clear the city's designated emergency routes ahead of what government forecasters predicted could be a “crippling” and “potentially historic” blizzard.
Prepare for a foot to 24 inches in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, they warned. The governors of both states signed disaster proclamations in advance.

My deepest apologies to many key decision makers and so many members of the general public.

You made a lot of tough decisions expecting us to get it right, and we didn't. Once again, I'm sorry.

Still snowing here and blizzard warning continues through 4 AM tomorrow. Might be another work at home day Wednesday. My daughter who lives in Worcester, MA is getting hit worse with it, though. Just visited her over the weekend so glad the travel days were right between the storms for me.

sometimes decisions have to made on the side of caution- I think the decisions made by NYC and Philly were based on part by what happened in Atlanta during that snow storm. People safe in their homes, even if unhappy that the forecast was wrong, is much better than being stranded on hwys and roads-- which is what happened in Atlanta and lives were lost.

Fl sees a lot of this during tropical season. Many complain- it missed us-- however the complaints might be greater if not warned and there was a direct hit.

Mother Nature does what and when she pleases.
