June 28, 2015 - Rather than barbecue weather, Ontario's weekend has been filled with cool temperatures and unceasing rain, just when everybody had just about settled into a proper summer.

This in Ontario and Quebec could be forgiven for thinking June decided to skip ahead to November this weekend.

Rather than barbecue weather, the weekend was filled with cool temperatures, heavy rain and strong winds.

"Monday will see warming and clearing conditions for Ontario, with another low from the Prairies going through overnight," Weather Network meteorologist Erin Wenckstern said.

Here are six things that couldn't handle the weekend winds and rain.

This lakeside parking lot

The owner of this displaced umbrella

These power lines (and plenty others)

This dock

These (and many other) roads

This old rail bed

Winds made for scattered power outages across the region.

Those winds also whipped up the surf to cause flooding in some communities along western Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, along with some localized flooding from the rain itself.

Though not a major thunderstorm event, some storms did flare up in parts of the southwest in the afternoon and evening.

Rainy (of course), was all weekend, today, on and on it rains. Said before I like it, but c'mon now...but yeah, I dig this summer so far, like the summer of 1816--a dark, chilly, rainy summer, caused by a major volcanic eruption that year which clouded the atmosphere with ash, thus a cold, wet season. The very season, nearly 200 years ago, that a certain Mrs. Shelley conceived the idea for Frankenstein. At Lake Geneva, the Villa Diodati.

Back to you, Johnny--

A "dry" heat though, skimom? :icon_eek:
Yep :) I used to have a shirt for these events, though: "IT'S NOT THE HUMIDITY, IT'S THE HEAT! IT'S THE BLISTERING, BONE-MELTING HEAT!"

Pretty much covers how I feel lately--lol. It was 85F at 9 this morning when I took LilMan to swimming lessons, so I predict it will be over 110F by 3 today. HOT, HOT, HOT!
