healing vibes. Ice grippers for your shoes!
I bought some of those when Andy first came to Canada. He used to wear his dress kilt for special occasions (like Robbie Burn's Dinner) and his fancy black shoes that went with it were quite slippery.

(they might even still be in the closet!)
:biggrin2::laugh: - they were hard to walk with

Guess I am lucky, most of the yard grass has frostbite, however the fields and woods are still growing by leaps and bounds. Guess what- another round coming in today!

We've only been below 60 degrees 6 or 7 nights since Fall started. We got below 50 twice. It has been warm and rainy over here. The last 2 or 3 weeks have thankfully been quite a bit cooler than Nov and December were. We were in the mid 80s most of December. I ran the heater on Sunday and the A/C last night. ;-D

Cold pocket here. Been in 20's a few nights. I hear 80's due in this weekend.

Snowy day here--it's perfect snowball snow, so I hope all the youngsters home from school enjoy it. I'm sitting here at work, unfortunately, but TGIF!! :)
TGIF to you too!

We have a relatively mild day but still have snow coming down, off and on. Might make it to the mall today if I feel up to it.

I saw a good recipe for a leek and potato soup with cheddar cheese that I am thinking about making later.

Apparently my daughter's school district is the only one open today. Heavy snow started around 6. Her normal travel time is about 20 minutes from her apt. to school. She left a seven and just got there. Two and a half hours. My wife called to let me know, she's a teacher also, but got the call for no school at 5:45.......

Ummmm my daughter was a little upset to say the least........

Glad she made it safely and sorry they didn't cancel.

We didn't get anything this round. A dusting to the east of town supposedly.

Calling for another system early next week though. :upside:

Snowing here but only a few private schools closed so not an official work-at-home day. Don't plan to stay here until 4, though, since I can do everything at home that I can do here. Depending on who you listen to will get between 4-8" of snow by the time it's over.

Better safe than stuck. Safe drive when you do go back home. We promise to be good while you are homeward bound.;)

NOAA weather alert ( they are usually good)

  • AIRPORT WEATHER WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...
HEAVY SNOW WITH VISIBILITY RANGING FROM ONE-QUARTER TO A HALF-MILE MILE AT TIMES... WILL IMPACT BANGOR INTERNATIONAL THROUGH NOON TIME. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION THROUGH NOON TIME WILL RANGE BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR INCHES.
You've convinced me! Our office is close to the airport. If the ground between us was more level I could probably see the end of the runway from here and drive by it on my way to/from work.
