Darn it,turning cold again..and my furnace got balky, after an expensive fix,I know I will have to spend thousands this summer to replace it..always something with a house, easier to rent and bitch to the landlord!
whaaat?! why should you have to replace it,that is his responsibility! Unless you signed some lease that puts it on you,you didn't did you?Unless you're the landlord. We just had to replace the dryer in the rental house. Again. *sigh*
Doing a rain/snow dance. I can't believe I'm saying that. Our air is so awful lately, though--worst in the US for quite a while, and yesterday we passed Beijing which is usually the worst IN THE WORLD. Between the flu, then the sinus/ear infection, compounded with this, I feel like I haven't taken a clear breath in weeks (I haven't, actually). Working on week three of a constant headache. The Man and I (and the kids, if they want to go) are heading up the mountain tomorrow to get out of the murk.
Send rain/snow thoughts!
DiO'Bolic -- didn't you just make that trip last weekend? Might be time to invest in a car for your daughter May not-- Don't colleges have fun things to do on weekends any more? Ok, this is not coming across in the "correct vein of thought". Just go get your daughter---- safe travels and may all stay warm. The Polar Vortex sure looks nasty. This morning the temp was 5 degrees F. Before I left for work I put the window down to get the windshield wiper unstuck. The window froze in the down position and wouldn’t come up. I had to drive to work with the window down. Finally about 20 minutes into the trip the window motor finally unfroze and I was able to get it up. Most unpleasant experience.
Students at my daughter’s college received a warning today from their school not to go outside of their dorms this weekend as it will be very dangerous for the skin. The temp will average around 0 F and with the high winds about –20 with the wind chill factor. Of course my lovely wife offered my daughter for me to pick her up tonight and take her back Sunday evening. Do you think my daughter would say ‘no, that’s okay, I will manage.' Nope, her response was “I would love to come home.’
You did get the generator? Stay warm and be safe!! (It is 76F right now)Another 3-6" of snow predicted for tomorrow (sorry, skimom2). That will make the 3rd snowstorm with measurable accumulation in the past 8 days, unless I've missed another one with only an inch or so. Going to get VERY cold on Sunday. High will be 9 F. Looks like I'll be spending my 3-day weekend inside.
LOL. You know how some people aren’t meant to drive... I think that’s her. Both I and her mother have tried to teach her, but have failed. I may have to pay a professional driving instructor this summer if there is any hope. Also, freshmen and sophomores are not allowed to have cars on campus.DiO'Bolic -- didn't you just make that trip last weekend? We did. Probably won't lose power with this storm but you never know. Someone could go off the road and hit a pole and that would knock it out.You did get the generator? Stay warm and be safe!! (It is 76F right now)
Do you have some portable ceramic heaters to plug into it?We did. Probably won't lose power with this storm but you never know. Someone could go off the road and hit a pole and that would knock it out.
