The doctor won't allow me to walk in the Halloween parade tonight with my softball team... Killjoy! :(
I had one of these knee scooters following my foot surgery instead of crutches. Insurance even covered the rental as an approved medical device. You'd be amazed how much speed you can pick up on one of those. ;-D We rigged up a plastic basket to hang from the handlebars so I could carry things. It folds up to make it easier to transport if needed.

Cool! If I have to get surgery, I will definitely want one of those over crutches. Does it come with an optional V-6? :)

Until he hears they now allow internet in prisons. Paid by that money he complains was stolen from education here. Then it will be "Let him rot in there. That's were all those Tea Party types belong anyway." :)
Oh it wasn't stolen, it's stimulus dollars. But since that is how it fell, maybe you should be forced to be housed in one of the dilapidated schools, instead. :)

Not that I know of but my partner did find one on Amazon that had all terrain wheels! ;-D It helped that our house is all on one level so I didn't need to worry about stairs. I had to go 4 weeks of total non weight-bearing on that foot so would have had to deal with crutches, too, otherwise. Still would have gone with the scooter, though. It was great and avoided the complications of the stresses crutches put on the other parts of your body. I'll be getting it when I have the other foot done in December. Maybe by then they'll have one that comes with the basket already attached.

Yup. The medical supply place I got it from didn't have any in stock when I needed it but thought they were going to be ordering one or two so will ask when I go back.
Black Bear Medical is the closest dealer that carries that model...

Thanks--I'd called them the first time around but they took 2 days to return a phone call as I couldn't get through to a real person. By then I'd already gotten the approval from the insurance, paperwork in place, and arranged for the rental with Coastal Medical Supply. I might give them another chance if Coastal doesn't have the basket ones yet, though.

If they don't let me know. I'll send you one of these...

Coastal Med Tech on Lexington is listed too, BB was just the closest in terms of miles from you.

I want pics of you with the basket, please. I am betting it'll have a plastic liner and be filled with ice and a bottle of wine... :p

My kids have been attending one of those dilapidated schools. We’ve been in need of a new school for over 10 years. Now that the stimulus education money has been squandered on things other than the shovel ready desperately needed project, we finally broke ground on a new school this year... to be paid by our increased school taxes.

Progress at work!! Same thing with my kid's HS. Only the opposite. The lack of tax funding has delayed the project for years, but their magnet program scored so high on race to the top they got federal funding, which was finally matched by the state so they started this summer. It'll be done next summer. That school was overdue by about 20 years or so. But they do have a hell of a football team...

Congrats on the new school and matching funds. You must have a good governor. ;)
