Coastal Med Tech on Lexington is listed too, BB was just the closest in terms of miles from you.

I want pics of you with the basket, please. I am betting it'll have a plastic liner and be filled with ice and a bottle of wine... :p

If they don't let me know. I'll send you one of these...

Ooohhhh, I like that with all the pockets. How does that attach? It might even be able to go over the basket to add more carrying options. I'll be pimping out that scooter big time! Add a little bling to the gusset pockets and I'll be rockin' it! ;)

 I hadn't thought of that possibility before but the ice could do double duty--some for keeping the swelling down on the foot and some for the wine. I prefer red, though, so better not iced.

Triple O, that's a great deterrent. I can just see the article below the headline making sure it mentioning I work for Steve as well.

Better get snow tires for it, Ms Mod. You're gonna need 'em........
Those all terrain wheels would come in handy but unless I need to go out for a doctor's appointment, I plan to settle right in at home for the duration. Luckily I can work from home so no need to tempt fate slipping in the snow or ice. I'm more worried once I'll have to transition to the crutches as it will be January at that point.

Congrats on the new school and matching funds. You must have a good governor. ;)
Nice try, Crist signed it. It takes a couple of years for the contracts to be secured and get through the bidding process. We had hoped it would start before her Junior year, but the local funding needed was voted down by the retirees and so it was delayed a bit. They even voted down some of the easements and other things needed to do the construction. It is smack dab in the middle of a very densely populated area. Pinellas County is second only to Manhattan in population density. The city had to have the county step in use other means to get the permits and such needed. It was kind of a debacle and exactly what I was talking about with the way things are not supported here due to all the retirees.

Ok no more political hijacks here... :) not_nadine might get all twisted up and need an ambulance... :p

Yes, and then it would go national as soon as his name became involved. Aw heck, you always wanted to make The Drudge Report didn't you?

I just hobbled out into the warehouse to take a look for you. The are designed for walkers but would work on the scooter handlebars. They attach with 2 strips of velcro, with an open space to accommodate the vertical bar of the scooter (and have two ties at the base which can be easily removed). Just say the word and I’ll send you one... and unlike someone who shall remain nameless, will come with no strings attached. ;)

Oh thank goodness! You know I couldn't have accepted it if it meant I had to start saying nice things about a certain political party. ;)

They have attachments to crutches and canes for ice and snow. Mom used one on her cane while up north.

you can also use the track grips on your other shoe for safety on ice/ LLBean has really good ones- ask Galli.

I had one of these knee scooters following my foot surgery instead of crutches. Insurance even covered the rental as an approved medical device. You'd be amazed how much speed you can pick up on one of those. ;-D We rigged up a plastic basket to hang from the handlebars so I could carry things. It folds up to make it easier to transport if needed.

Nice when insurance covers it :) My mom's insurance refused, so rental place was going to charge her something like $600 to rent it for a month. Needless to say, it went right back the day after delivery (as soon as the insurance refused)--lol. Nothing like crawling around the house when there isn't someone available to get things for you :p

How are you feeling, BTW?

That's crazy. You can buy a new one on Amazon for less than $200.

Yep. She's stubborn, though, and wouldn't dream of buying one (or having one bought for her). She was able to walk on it in the cast boot thing two weeks ago, and carefully, in shoes, as of yesterday. Now she's fighting me because Dr. told her she had to have good, supportive athletic shoes-he wrote a prescription and everything--and she won't buy any (or let me). *smdh*
