I think it will be like the Great Depression of 1929, but that is just my opinion, and, I hope I am wrong.
Yeah, exactly the same here, we had a deep crisis in 1998 when our currency almost stopped existing, people lost jobs, there was no food, no goods... Some people predict that now the same situation can happen. Well, we hope it will not. I hope things will turn alright for our countries! What is happening now is not right! I am far from politics and I don't want to discuss it, let alone argue about it. I just think the politics is not right now, both in Russian, in the USA and in Europe. They all make a lot of mistakes and that influences ordinary people, that is what incorrect. I hope the situation will improve.

As for my Christmas tree, I am not so sure it will appear. Honestly, each day is worse than the previous one. The only thing that keeps me going now is my relationship with my boyfriend, and when he has so many problems now, I just cannot stop being sad... Well, I guess you all know what it means to worry about the closest person you have. I do believe it will be alright... I just hope it will be soon enough.

We've had a wind chill advisory here for the past few days-temperatures in some places around -35 F with the wind. That's enough to be angry about, but I literally lose sleep over worrying about animals outside. I was picking up some vitamins at a friend of my mom's place and I parked across the street and there was a small dog on a leash barking at me. When I got back to the car a few minutes later, the dog was still outside and had one of its legs curled up from the cold. I considered calling the authorities, but figured if the dog was really in danger that might take too long. So I went around to the side door and rang the doorbell. About a minute later, a lady came to the door in a bathrobe. I told her I was sorry to bother her and asked very politely if it was her dog outside. I could tell she was already annoyed and offended. She said it was-I told her I was worried since it was so cold out and because the dog was lifting up its leg like that. The lady brusquely told me that everything was fine and that her dog scratches on the door when she's ready to come inside. I thought to myself-how's she supposed to walk back up the stairs to scratch on the door when her leg is frozen??! Then I started to cry-in front of this miserable a-hole of a lady. I told her I recently lost my girl and was very sensitive about animals. She didn't deserve to see me break down like that, but maybe I saved the dog. And maybe she'll think twice in the future before leaving her dog outside that long in subzero temps. I can only hope.

You did the right thing. Don't feel bad about breaking down. Not only did it show you were more humane than the irresponsible owner, but you're right; It may have shocked her into doing the right thing. People think that animals can survive outdoors in those conditions, but that would only be possible if they could seek shelter, instead of being tied up. And, a wild animal would be more likely to already be acclimated, with a thicker coat, than a domestic animal. You would think they would at least have a well-insulated doghouse. Around here (Detroit area), they have advisories to bring pets indoors whenever it gets around freezing. That dog's exposed paws, nose, etc. would have been subject to the wind chill. Maybe the owner should have to stay outside for a while in that temperature.

Thank you, Morgan. Maybe she will think twice the next time. So many just do not understand about cold and critters. I live in a warm climate- yet my area does get had freezes. Even with advisories, neighbors will ignore- it's Florida, it doesn't get cold.

Breaking down is normal. You have a kind heart- your loss was so recent.

I am angry today because I did something dumb. I was bored and clicked on a website for "free stuff" for taking a survey. Took the survey, they told me I won something and just wait for verification number and blah blah. I decided no I don't want to this and hung up.

Now they are calling. I answered once. Indian sounding guy getting mad that I hung up. Told him to cancel. Now they keep calling. Must have been 50 times yesterday. Turned off phone. As soon as I turn it on again, it starts . They call over and over up until 10 o'clock last night. Every 5 minutes.

Now it started again this morning.

Contact whoever you have phone service with and file a complaint.

Or if they call again just leave them on the line and don't hang up.

My son had calls like this over and over and they got into his computer, tried to get money from him and then put a password on his computer when they realized they could not scam him out of any money.

Yup - he actually let them take remote control of his computer. (my son is cognitively challenged and quite vulnerable).

Finally (tried) to make coffee this morning. I was drinking tea. I found out that apparently my coffee maker was broken during the big cabinet crash. I found that out when I went in there and had to mop coffee and water off (broken) countertop and floor. Ruined my cookbooks.

A friend came over and he noted that the new cabinets were crooked and pulling from the wall
He also saw that the other cabinets were mounted with only two #6 screws. Not near strong enough to hold a loaded cabinet. And cracks where they meet the ceiling.

I am afraid to go in there. I don't need another cabinet to fall on me. No.
I emailed the lawyer, I am not hearing anything from him. He just said, "wait until you are discharged
from pain management. God, I have to go 3x per week and it sucks.

I am actively looking for a job big time. Then I don't know how I will be able to go to this pain place.

arrrgh.

Rant over. Gonna have a good day in spite of it all.

What a nightmare for you :no_pig:

Just stay away from those faulty cabinets and do not load them up. Coffee makers are cheap - perhaps you could purchase a new one? It's better to make coffee at home than go to Starbucks where it's so darn expensive! (not saying you do, but since I do this when at work it sure adds up).

Take care of yourself and good luck!
:haha:

Someone or some people tried to break into my mums home. They threw a stone through the living room window. There's broken glas all over the couch and some other things are broken too. This is the second time this happens to my mum. I think they made my mum cry.:cry_002::hell_boy: She is not rich just working in a supermarket and selling groceries.

Hope your mum is ok. Can it be reported? Sending safe vibes her way.
