Everything passes, everything. There is an end to everything. Patience. Do what I do...you run out into the bush, grab hold of a young tree, and start shaking it for all your worth. Keep shaking. Eventually, you realize you look foolish...but all in all, you feel better. And nobody is around 'cept maybe some squirrels and a stray deer or two. Actually, I've never done this, but I think it might turn the trick. What I really do is start singing happy songs...most of which I've no idea about lyrics but I don't let that stop me, no sirreebobbee. Crank it up. The sun'll come out, TOMORROW! WELL! There's always ta-marra! ta-marra! I'm sure you know a few tricks to bounce back, based on your posts seems like you know how to do that. Best of luck. :)

I'm about to turn twenty three, and I feel like an abject failure of the highest order. I still haven't gotten any writing done, I don't have a real job or volunteer position, and I have no girlfriend. My morale is significantly depleted. I sound like a broken record already. Typical me, a waste of perfectly good spermatozoa and ovum.

You've got plenty of time to fall in love, get married, sink 30 years of your life into a mortgage, have kids, and be miserable like the rest of us...lol, it'll happen when you least expect it, that I can guarantee.:lee::wha::lee:

Connor B -- you are just beginning your adult life. The world is open to you. The journey just begins. One learns by failures. But I do not consider you a failure! Perhaps your muse is not ready to speak-- some writers only hear the words in later life. The economy is ruff right now, any job is difficult to find. Do not give up. Keep knocking on doors and sending out resumes. It will happen.Look for positions in areas that interest you. A job you love, is not a job rather a joy. You are a a person of worth, and someone will see that soon. Girlfriend- when the time is right you'll meet Ms Right. Until then socialize and meet a variety of people. They may even lead to a possible job. Life is an adventure. One you are just beginning. One step at time down the path. And never say you are a waste-- never- you are part of this Ka-Tet and important to many!!

get an addiction like the rest of us

hell my 30 year mortgage is now 35 years having paid of 9 years ???? work that out .

so now I turn to the horses for a bit of peace and well being.
Saturday morning at the bookies with my slip sees the world right for just a moment of mayhaps and wonder, before I rip the slips up and drown my sorrows for another week.

if you're stuck for a writing idea- just write somebody else's yarn with your own spin on it - let it happen. it don't have to be good yet. plenty time to blog or tweet or snapchat until you unearth the story for you- until then , quit whining my good fellow, and start lovin that face in the mirror -
it don't get better than this !

Blow up the T.V.
Throw away the paper.
It's a crappy negative profit/power/money world that is not naturally beneficial to any life form.
It's hard to stay positive and hopeful in that stew so we need to focus locally and find our own pockets of sunshine.
Sometimes getting mad at the B.S. is okay.
Never get sad at it though.
As far as personal development and motivation go, we all have to find peace. Forcing yourself to do something that goes against your grain may help. If you do it often enough, the grain becomes smooth.
One more armchair philosopher pipes in. Peace to all, mal.
