I ordered a new shed a couple of weeks ago and I was informed yesterday that it's in and ready to be installed. My old one is leaky and nasty inside so I'm very happy to be getting a new one.

Now for the part that I'm not happy about - I'm the one tearing down the old shed. So that's my project for this weekend.

Speaking of sheds, I saw something a while back I thought was kind of amusing. There is a house close to me that I walk by all the time and I noticed a nice big shed in the back yard. What struck me funny is that I saw a satellite dish attached to the shed. I looked closer and the shed had curtains on the windows. Someone turned a shed into a spare bedroom. ;-D It's not quite as weird as it sounds because this shed is similar to the one I'm getting and they are all wired for electric and you can have them dry-walled if you want. I've seen people use these types of sheds as offices on car lots and construction sites. I just never thought of one as a bedroom before. What a great place to stick your teenager. ;-D

I think I know the type shed. I have one and have semi converted it into a crafting room.

I finally went and did it. I ordered a DNA kit from Ancestry.com. My ancestors came from England, Scotland and Ireland and I'm pretty sure that will dominate the test, but I'm curious what other little strands might be in there. For instance, I have Indian tribes on both sides of my mom and dad's family, so just wondering, should I be getting some of that casino money?

How do you do this?
I just went to ancestry.com and ordered the test. It gets to me in about a week. I spit in some testtube or something and send it back. It takes 6 to 8 weeks to get my results. I hope I have some really oddball thing in there like Maori, or swedish or maybe oompa loompa or something.

If you come up with Native American heritage- don"t forget about college grants.( if children are of that age)

Well, one is already through, and the other has a year. We know there is some strong Native American on my dad's side, (I forget the tribe) but it has to be verified through a male descendent to be able to be legit. I mean, it could say I am so much percentage NA, but as far as the tribe recognizing it? They will only recognize if a male in the family can prove it. The only male left in my family to prove it is my brother. So, depending on how mine turns out, I may pay for a test for him as my cousin has small children who could definitely benefit college wise.

Cue the song, I'm in the dog house now! I'm in the dog house now!
Least, I think there's a song with those lyrics...if not, there should be.

He's in the jail house now, he's in the jail house now... (I think)

- somehow memories of Kitty Wells, Hank Snow etc. have come to mind.

Mom and Dad loved all the old country singers - Hank Williams Jr. etc.

For a day that started crappy, it's ending well :). I got the nicest note from one of my CCD kids, and we made our first attempt at home made sushi, plus summer rolls with peanut sauce, and teriyaki tofu (all of which we've made before). First time making homemade pickled ginger, too. finished it off with a lovely pot of green tea (because we forgot to put it on the table for dinner--lol). Now I'm listening to the littles (well, 10 and 17) playing chess and giggling. :)
