Did I mention my son graduated yesterday? It was a wonderful ceremony. He picked up his older kids the night before and they got to skip school for the day. His four day old daughter was the hit of the party.

He (and the other grads) all looked so proud in their uniforms.

One of the female officers gave one of the best speeches I've ever heard in my life. She asked them to think of a time during their training when they felt nervous and unsure of themselves; maybe even a bit scared. And she told them to remember that some of the people they will be dealing with are feeling just that way. They have made a mistake, they are scared, and they have no idea where that person in a uniform is taking them. She also reminded them that while their uniform commands respect, it also makes them a target.

She said a lot more, but those were the parts that really stuck out to me.

I've been going out with my girlfriend for 14 months now. And even though I've been married twice before, I think she's the one I've been looking for all my life. I'm pretty sure I won't get married again, it's a sure way to ruin a perfect relationship. She came back from dropping her daughter off over an hour ago, and I said 'I'm going to get into my PJ's now' (it's 10pm here btw, I'm not a lazy bugger) Well I'm getting into my nighty, she replied. Let's do a swap, I proposed, me being Champ ;) . We're now watching Grudge Match in each other's nightwear.

I'm even happier now. Julie's daughter (she's 19 btw) has been saying all day 'I'm going out, I'm not going out, I'm going out, ad nauseam. She's just text saying the weather's awful so her and her friend are coming home. 'Best get changed back' I said 'Actually, sod it' lmao. Can't wait to catch my daughter (the most sarcastic 11 year old in the world, that's ma girl) out when she's old enough.

I'm happy to find out that poor Arturo dubbed "the world's saddest polar bear" has had a few improvements implemented in his zoo environment.

Update on Arturo | Polar Bears International

They say at 29 he is too old to be moved, but they have made quite a few upgrades to his environment, as per the story in the link above
