I learned two new things here: hellmess - that's a perfect word if ever. And pineapple/pork/pepper kabobs! That sounds divine!
I shall be happy too then now as I have a pile to dishes to clean now. Dahmmit!
They WERE divine! Brushed them with a pineapple/habanero jelly we bought at the farmers' market this weekend. Best of all, DD#2 did all the dishes :)

Three thousand words on my haunted comic novel today, as opposed to my usual daily output of two thousand. Moving right along. Seems I can only write this story in the summer months--no surprise, it being a summer tale. Think Something Wicked This Way Comes/The Body/Faust/Needful Things kinda story about a haunted comic book. It's a novel, though, but I'll probably do a few illustrations for it--the story kinda demands it.

I've spoken too much already, damn it. Just trust me, you cats would dig it the most. And will, once I get it done and out there. Even Uncle Stevie, I dare say, would dig this one. Hell, I know he would.
. ..if you need any help citing Paradise Lost or Shakespeare let me know. . .
)Jaw Drop- I'm happy because i am suddenly outside in a rare desert monsoon!(in the pool):monkey::m_shutup:

don't know why. trying to stick with the program. also buying some plastic storage containers so I'm putting all my King books in about 4 of them on top of each other in the corner.
That's perfectly fine, in fact, plastic storage containers are hard to come by. Personally, (this is weird) no matter where I try to keep my King books, I find them in my bed every night in the corner of my room. They sneak under my covers sometime during the day, or maybe they crawl under my pillow at night. I wake up next to several books every morning.

I went to a pow wow today. It was interesting and fun.

It's funny...even before I knew about my native ancestry I was always drawn to so much of native traditions. And my little granddaughter, who is only 6 weeks old, loves the music. She would fuss and cry when it stopped.

When we entered, there were people who gave us little packets with tobacco. They were to throw on the fire at the end, but we didn't stay that long. I understand I also could have given it to someone. I had planned to give it to this one woman. She had such beautiful clothing and I was enjoying watching her dance. I considered, and could have given to one of the drummers too, but since the entire afternoon, I was so drawn to this woman, I had decided to give it to her. However, when my driver wanted to leave, I couldn't find the woman. So...I have this packet. And I have no idea what to do with it.

It depends on if it's tobacco or another kind of herb, it might be Sage. If it's Sage you want to smudge yourself with it. You do this by putting it in the ceramic dish filled with salt or sand and lighting on fire. You can use a little self-igniting charcoal briquette for this.If it's tobacco, give it to a homeless person and they will happily roll it into a cigarette. Anything else you might just want to light it on fire and inhale it to destroy the evidence in case it's illegal. Not that I recommend it.

I am happy today because I got an autographed picture of Darren Kavinocky (the host of Deadly Sins on ID) mailed to me by him. Long and probably boring story as to how that came about but it was nice to get. I'm sorry if selfies are evil or in a misplaced thread right now but it really made my day!dk.jpg

We do have a thread for Selfies but I think it's okay to leave this post in this thread. Congratulations on the autographed pic!

I had asked and was told it was tobacco. As an ex smoker I do NOT want to be inhaling this. Lol.
