...thanks for sharing your joy, and may you have tons more visited upon you.....

More joy today!!!
Had a wonderful "team meeting" at kiddo's school this morning. I let everyone know how incredibly awesome kiddo's substitute driver (and her aide) have been these past few weeks. I was gushing so much about how great they are, you'd think they were paying me haha.
(Before this sub, we had MAJOR issues with the regular bus driver, who is out on medical leave, and we weren't the only parents who complained).
Anyway, this afternoon, when kiddo was dropped off, the bus driver thanked me...apparently, my praises were passed on to her supervisor, and she is now our FULL TIME driver!!!!!!
I am so happy I could burst!!!!. I helped this woman get hired at a job she loves that she is AMAZING at AND it benefits my son and all the other special kids on that route.
Win win!!!!

Awesome all the way around!

She thanked me, but I was thanking her! I told her, I told the "higher ups" the truth, and the truth just happens to be that she truly is the best person for the kids to start their school day with. If she was horrible, I'd have told them that, like I did with the previous ones lol.

Thanks, everyone.
I really try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the former bus ladies were miserable. With their personalities, they would've made great drivers for prisoner transport, not youngsters with special needs.
The kiddo was leaving the house happy but would get to school miserable. I hope the driver fully recovers from her medical issues, but her absence turned out to be a huge blessing for the rest of us.

That sounds like VERY good news, 80sFan! And you deserve full praise for getting a much better driver for the children! :eagerness:

Fantastic! Wonderful to hear that someone suited for the job is doing it as it should have a ripple effect with happier and less stressful time for kids, parents, and teachers.

So happy to hear this.

This year they are having major issues here with bus drivers and crossing guards. I get it...you need to be available morning and after school, some places lunch time too. Paid low salary, only the hours you work, but it interferes with your whole day. So, they've been short staffed through the city, and hiring people they probably shouldn't have, and it appears not properly training them.

Thanks!
We were told before that the previous driver (and aide) were going to receive more "training". But you can't "train" someone not to be an @$$hole.
I know they are paid very little for a job that can be very stressful, but these people seemed to not even like children. In that case, they shouldn't have applied for the job in the first place.

And I am happy today because I introduced somebody to Oscar Leroy! I apologise if you were familiar with it already - personally, I think Corner Gas is one of the best TV comedies since... well, ever! Hilariously funny, good natured, rarely rude - just wonderful! And that clip is one of my favourite moments.

"Jesus loves you, Mr Leroy."
"Damn right he does!"

All six series are available on Youtube, for anyone who is interested... :)
