I'm happy because I choose to be...there's a lot in life to be happy about. :smile2:

I returned back from Greece last week, I was there for four weeks. I had planned on moving back to Greece this summer but was talked out of it by the people I work with...but once I arrived "home" I realised I'd made a huge mistake. I'm not happy with life here so I came back and quit my job. A big step, and life changing, but I feel it's the right decision. Long story short, I return to Greece on Wednesday, where my only plan is to take every day as it comes, and enjoy life.
You have got guts - good for you! I hope all turns out well in Greece! So far I have only seen a bit of Greece - Rhodes Island (not Rhode Island hehehe) and that was just on a long range trainer with 435 Squadron. My sister had a long term relationship in Toronto with a Greek and we met many of his friends and family. I hear the pace of life there is better. It sounds lovely in Greece.

Best of luck and let us know how it all goes!

because our son wants to go to the movies for his birthday. Of course we are taking him and a few of his friends. We were planning on paying $7.50 per ticket, then someone told us about another movie theater.
So happy $2 per ticket. Yay way more affordable.
Good idea - and if snacks are involved as well it can all add up to a lot very quickly!

I am happy today because I realize I can enjoy a good book by Stephen King without over-analysing every single detail in the book. I see some people who have joined the SKMB recently just so they can point out an error in Mr. Mercedes. I hope I never get that desperate! Like Spidey says - can't anyone just read a book for the pleasure of it, not to be a nitpicker?
(well, I am paraphrasing here, but I think you get my meaning).

Well maybe if they read some of the things they wrote. they would find mistakes as well. i know I certainly make a lot of writing errors and typos. I just admire Kings writing talents mistakes and all. The story is the important part.

I'm happy that Richard's in my life, I'm glad he's a good friend to me and my daughter. I didn't used to know how to be just plain friends with a man until he came into my life and then I had to know him for over 20 years before I finally figured out how to be friends with someone of the opposite sex.
I hope that doesn't sound lame, but I truly am grateful for him even if I don't always understand him. I don't understand ANY man completely, but I have a better grasp of who Richard is than I do my own dad. He's totally closed up about most things. He's way older than Richard though, and Richard's way older than I am.
All Vietnam Veterans are way older than I am. I was born near the end of that war and I don't know anything about it other than what Richard's told me, b/c our school banned the studying of the Vietnam War. Everything I know about it I found out from Richard or tried to discover in books but failed to get a clear picture until I asked someone who went there.

We are having ice-cream and cup cakes before hand and will bring our own candy and will purchase soda there.
That's exactly what we do - we wait for the movies to get to the $2 theatre, load up on $1 candy from Walgreens, sneak our own soda in, and I do buy 1 big tub of popcorn. The drive in runs specials during the summer of $10 a carload. I love those nights!

Happy (late) birthday to your son! Hope you all had a great time!

I am utterly flabbergasted. I got a package today from a very good friend in Australia (my hetero life mate--points if you get the reference--lol) ; she knew how devastated I was by the demise of my computer, and that I can't afford another for a while... so she had a reconditioned Mac sent to me. I've been awash for hours. Free editing FOREVER is a given (she's a writer as well). I'm just stunned beyond rational thinking right now.
