I Am Happy Today Because . . .

So, under the wire, I FINALLY finished this zombie story I'm doing for a collection. (I won't say which because self-promotion.) I agreed to write this for a couple of friends, even though:
a. I don't really like zombies.
b. I don't really read horror much (I KNOW, I KNOW ... but I don't).
c. I find horror shorts maddening as there are only a few authors whom I think can handle them with any real grace or skill. Even authors I admire for longer works crap out on the horror shorts.
d. I wasn't remotely convinced I could do any better.
e. I had never actually finished any work of fiction.
f. My life is otherwise a total hot mess right now.
I'm done. Done done. And it doesn't suck!! I don't think.

I just got an e-mail that there's a little audio book waiting for me to pick up at the library. Can you say hallelujah! I said....CAN YOU SAY HALLELUJAH!

Long before The Green Mile, he was on St. Elsewhere. One of my favourite shows.
Shawn just got a job offer. It's for a three-month contract, which will get him through February and out of the dreaded fourth quarter. And it's so much easier to find a job when you have one. And maybe we can pay rent now.

I am soooo happy the weekend is nearly here and Monday is the 1st of December and I get to put up my Christmas tree. I am happy because I have amazing family, friends and pets...
My Christmas tree and I are seeing each other. We're going to get married and have little boughs. THAT'S how much I love my Christmas tree.

I became happy on Saturday when my lovely, dear darling gave me a little surprise. A necklace Oh I just love it.
