I can understand why my few early copies of King's work has "By the author of..." on the cover.

F me in the F hole, but all a book would need these days would be SK on the cover.

Cha-ching.

Do they still do that, and if not, when did they realize it was not necessary?

yep...remember this one more so than the other, "Nona," in the other thread you started today. The paranoia in this one...some bad juju here. Didn't help, all the windows of my youth, here there everywhere...those Happy Campers in Utah today. The Authorities. Anyone ever drop The Authorities on you? I imagined Penguin Stout and the School Board, black and white photos of white men in black suits, white shirts, ties, slicked back hair. Eyes everywhere. Like a stage, 24/7, could go on and on. Every step you take...

"I am the Doorway" disturbed me in a way that stayed with me for about a year afterwards. It creeped me out to no end, as in, made my skin crawl. And I liked that about it.

I agree, "The Jaunt" is also disturbing as hell.

Whenever my palms itch, I think of this tale. GREAT story!!! :spoiler:
Imagine the horror of eyes in your hands. Not only eyes...but ones you can 'see' yourself through. :spoiler:

Another poster mentioned The Jaunt...one of my all time favorites.

Shoot! I still can't get that darn 'spoiler' thingie to work!!!!

I found it unrelievedly disturbing. Not sure that I liked it. But it was interesting.
