hey, ms mod ; or anyone else

I have been reading up on Derry Ireland. It seems that this city was a center
of violence an hatred during the problems in Ireland. Even today they seem to glamorize the hatred and killing from years ago.(large murals on buildings)

Im wondering if our Mr King choose the name Derry

...very much on purpose .

OMG !!!!
I just learned they had really serious MARCHES in 1968 for civil rights, they were protesting for
protection against "anti catholic bigotry" then they had lots of killing and riots. the army actually opened fire.
one riot was called "bloody sunday"
STEVEN KING would have seen this on the news, 1968-9

It's much more likely that he was inspired to use the name Derry because of Derry, New Hampshire.
