....Simon is a pompous ass...but also a shrewd one...he really IS good at seeing talent-just doesn't have a warm or fuzzy bone in his body...
The boy is awesome. You're right about Simon, Giant- but he does know talent when he sees it. Hope the lad goes far in his singing career.
I'm thinking that the judges and the people running the music had a list of songs from the kid and Simon stopped him because he thought the second song suited his voice much better. He wanted him to sound good!
Simon is brilliant at getting people to pay attention to this show, whether it was premeditated or not.
I never watch the show, but I did see a video sequence of a deaf girl singing. I have to say, if Mr. Cowell is a jackass (as I've heard), he came out of it for that one.
I think he is just honest, but sometimes he does come across as rude. He suffers no fools, sometimes he is wrong though. He does have charisma in dollops. Many people try out who can't sing or dance etc, and Simon is upfront with them. They are silly shows really, but Susan Boyle was discovered, and what a voice!! Oh, I wish I had golden pipes...or any at all!
