I did too. I remember King was really on his toes with the jokes and full of good humor. There's an old interview on Conan that was funny, also.Caught that when it first aired. It's so hard not to laugh aloud when the rest of the house is sleeping.
Ferguson would be my first choice to play Pennywise in a remake. And whenever I see him do the monologue on his new show "Join or Die," it just convinces me more and more.
It's on the History Channel. Comedy with a history slant. They pick a topic, have 6 things that fit, the panel (mixture of entertainment people and academia/history/journalism experts) have a humorous discussion about each choice, eliminating until they decide which best fits the historical topic. I am often impressed that the entertainment people usually have a decent grasp on history.I don't know if that's an insult or compliment.
I will say, the first time I turned "Late Late" on, I sat dissolved in laughter. He was just so off the wall. I thought he was a comic genius. Later, as I watched more and more, some of his shtick got a little worn, but his wit was still sharp and his ideas could be so clever.
I didn't know that he had a show. Thank you, DiO! I have to search it out now.
I heard that was just in negotiation. Did they make a final casting? He likely can do it--he's an interesting actor, and can be quite creepy--though I wonder how the language will go. The first season of Hemlock Grove, his accent was very thick and sometimes difficult to understand (which was funny, because he was supposed to be American ). The next couple of seasons were better. I guess nothing says Pennywise can't have any accent he chooses, right?Alas, the Ferguson/Pennywise thing is not to be.
