Against the tide: I mentioned this in another thread, but I'm wallet-less. My life needs are met with four cards, a phone, keys, and cash. The cards go in the phone case, and the cash and keys are in my pocket.
With the tide: I can't join the anti-phone thing. I haven't searched in the drawer for a flashlight, or calculator, or map, or Day-Timer, or camera for years because I have a phone. I bank and pay bills on the phone. It wakes me up every morning. I drive a lot, and it steers me around traffic jams, warns me of cops, and gets me to places that I didn't know how to find. I'm not a huge fan of email on the phone, but when it's the choice I have, it does just fine. It also is useful for phone calls.
