Aristotle is one of the most influential people in human history because of his book, Logic. It influences the way we think. I can't think of any other way for something to make sense to me unless it is logical.

He also had time to be a teacher for Alexander The Great!! Im guessing it was not military tactics but something else he teached... Perhaps integration! And that was the reason why he had all his generals take persian wifes after he conquered them. But he did marry a Persian Princess himself so he led by example!

Aristotle was a huge influence, and indeed, much of Renaissance thought, which formed a lot of the basis for the Western approach, was based on him. Arguably one of the biggest. Thomas Aquinas, I'm sure, can trace a philosophic lineage to Aristotle.

But I'm not a complete Aristotle fan. The prevalence of categorization and dualism don't appeal to me. I see the world and human nature as a continual spectrum with lots of overlap and cross-pollination. While some like to be black and white, I'm more of a Roy G. Biv guy. I guess I'm more of a realistic Sophist, if I were going to adopt a label, which I wouldn't do.

Actually, I think I'm more of a Buddhist, just without the belief structure. But I'm not ready to start a thread on Siddhartha.
