Andy wanted to get a standard transmission car when he got here, until he realized he would have to shift gears with his right hand. I guess in Scotland he learned to do that with his left.You mean "on the correct side of the car".
I am right-handed and cannot imagine how it would feel to change gear with my right hand... it would be mucho weird.
