People are gross.

And on a completely different note, why does it seem there are always more people in Walmart that need the ride-on carts? I am not judging whether it not they need them or want them. But I rarely see anyone in any other stores in them, but in Walmart there are always ride-ons in use.

It is definitely not because there is more space. Usually you cannot walk through the kids riding bikes, piles of what-not blocking aisles, and people who feel the need to get in front of me and STOP. Lot's more room in Target....no people and half the shelves empty so no need to pile in the middle of the aisle.

Sometimes stepping into a Walmart is like stepping into any other discount department store. For instance, the Walmarts in the Portland, OR, area are just normal places, in my brief experiences there.

Sometimes it's like transporting to the planet Vulgarian.

It's the experiences of those latter times that fill me with apprehension as I walk from the car to the front door.

....true story...my partner at work was exiting Wally-World one day...only to see a man sitting in his van, blaring Long Black Train and wearing a pair of Sponge Bob panties on his head...

...my gripe, other than constant display of stupid-are those who graze through the produce section...sampling whatever catches their eye...

I see that in a lot of grocery stores here. Especially with grapes. People will grab a huge bag of grapes, which is charged by weight. They will munch through the entire store, and by the time they pay, there's maybe half left.

I'll wallow in a moment of judgementalism. I haven't had coffee yet, and I didn't sleep well.
It totally irks me to see fat people riding the electric scooters at Walmart. Obesity is not a disability. Maybe if they got up and walked instead, they wouldn't be so big.
And, by saying this, I in no way begrudge the people that really do need 'em. I rode a buggy myself after I had my surgery last year. I'm only talking about those who are otherwise fit and able to walk, if only they'd get off their duffs and do it.

After my hospital stay with my sugar being sky high, I had to stop there on my way home to pick up my supplies, and meds that I needed. I was very weak, and needed a buggy. Well, guess what? None of them were even charged. I said something to the cashier on my way out. It was torture for me to walk that day.

that is so awful. They are there for people who truly need that.

And yes, I understand people are nasty, and they should remove their own garbage from carts, but do you really want your incoming, paying customers to have to do it? Unless (could this be true?) Walmart doesn't really care about its customers??

I truly believe any store, but especially one that sells food, should take the carts and hose them down with a high-power hose once per week. That goes double for hand baskets.

I realize my husband is a germaphobe (not quite as far gone as Howie Mandel but he's getting there), and with my allergies I'm certifiably paranoid....but even normal people must be grossed out when you grab a cart and get a hand full of sticky-who-knows-what. And is that a shrivelled lettuce leaf, or is something growing in that corner of the basket?
