That was actually the first one that came to my mind from the term "iconic pictures." Another was the Marines on Iwo.

This one hit me square between the eyes. Just don't have the words.

I remember seeing this as part of an exhibit at the Newseum. The photographer reportedly went home (NY) and killed himself because he felt such guilt he didn't pick this child up and carry him to get him some help.

I've tried to find the one of a glass front café, with I think 2 people at the bar of the café. I can't find it.
I’ve had that problem also. I kinda remember a documentary of a film taken at a meeting at Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest with high ranking Nazi officials. There is one scene where Joseph Goebbels looks directly at the camera and the look in his eyes has always stuck with me as pure evil personified.
