Kelly had the best ever response.

Kelly Clarkson Responds to Body-Shaming Tweets - Diet & Fitness, Bodywatch, Kelly Clarkson : People.com

Asked by Heat magazine about the fat-shaming Tweets, Clarkson was initially puzzled.

"I don't have a clue what you're talking about," she said. "Someone Tweeted something nasty about me?"

When the reporter explained who Hopkins is and what she had written, Clarkson laughed. "That's because she doesn't know me," she said. "I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will."

Yes, ma'am. Kelly Clarkson had an awesome reply.

(No one should have to reply to those ugly, nasty comments. Those comments just shouldn't be said.)

Exactly right, they shouldn't be said. But, if the comments were something like 'I really like Kelly Clarkson. She's so pretty.' then we wouldn't be talking about it at all and that's the whole reason these cretins say this type of crap- RATINGS!!! I could never, ever be a 'celebrity'. First and foremost because if someone said something mean about me publicly I'd be crushed and secondly because I would end up saying something nasty right back at them and then that would be all over the news!

There is nothing wrong with being overweight (as long as you are healthy). Most people who are not self-aware are just little judges. They need to take a good long hard look in the deep dark truthful mirror, but they probably won't like what they see if given too much time to reflect.

I always wonder about this. How can one be truly healthy if overweight? Wouldn't the extra weight cause some sort of unhealthiness...? I'm just curious.

Well, one can be overweight and have decent scores and live a long time. But being overweight (disclosure: I'm overweight) puts added stress on the heart, puts more gunky stuff in the blood tubes, puts added stress on joints, and just is harder on all the systems. I mean, you can be relatively healthy and be overweight, but you're not as healthy as you would be at a healthy weight. To state the obvious.

Well, this is what I thought, but I was just making sure. In a general sense, it's better to be not overweight, although some people aren't that affected by it...just like some people smoke and live to be 101, I guess. Not the norm though. So, I'd say, for most of the population, being overweight is not healthy. Or am I wrong? Just trying to understand...

No, I can't say that packing on extra pounds is good for anyone, unless they are in a food-scarce environment and need extra calories or something, which does not appear to be the condition of the general American population.

I see it more as a body type. There are ectomorphs and endomorphs. 'Overweight' is definitely the wrong choice of a word, my aplogies. Big, stocky, barrel-chested, etc.
Oh, okay. Thanks for elaborating!

That's it! I'm an ectomorph!

Actually, no, I am. You know, the type that puts on muscle and, unfortunately, fat easily. The wrestler build (but without being a good wrestler). I'm thinking it's the Neanderthal ancestry.
