I think Leaving Las Vegas is a great romantic movie

Having said that, I liked this movie, it was like watching a train wreck. Both characters were just tragic.

Watched it again today. Love it.
Nicholas Cage just went to the mat with his drinking. He played the character very well, and Elizabeth Shue did a great job also.

this is kind of a "manly" romance movie.. I mean, I'm not going to confuse The Notebook and Leaving Las Vegas!

I agree Kingaholic..can there be anything more romantic than a suicidal,alcoholic,hellbent on destruction dude,still loving his prostitute,but not enough to stop the booze? Still,it was good stuff,just not for everyone..

It's a tragic love story. I thought it was a great film.
Peanut butter and baloney sandwiches, well Leona is the bestest, but baloney'll do in a pinch...oh, and lightly grillef PB and J on Pumpernickle rye.
Now I can't say for certain this is what makes me strange, but sure, okay, I'll just run with it for now, and for the time bein' at least, we'll leave the good sisters, and all manner 'o influential strange agents through out my illdustrious career, out of it

Not sure I have any "strange" foods - there was a time I was addicted to eating popcorn with V8.

I liked the movie - and I agree, it was a love story. Heartbreaking - I know 2 people who chose to self destruct - it leaves me wondering - do you have to love someone enough to let them go on their own terms? Or is it better to love someone enough to try to convince them they are worthy and loved and needed and you have to try and save them? Or does it just mean that all the love in the world can't save you when YOU feel unworthy? It's a very depressing movie.

I don't like shopping for clothes either - my husband buys my clothes and shoes. Which means I dress how he likes to see me dress. It's kind of cool.
I don't like neutral normal colors and things in my house. It's a constant battle around here. I'll paint the back door peacock blue and the Ogre will freak out.
