1974? I was only 1 :)

Now, having a broad musical palette, and checking the internet to confirm albums released in 1974, here are a few of my faves.......

Get Your Wings- Aerosmith
Rush- Rush
Big Fun- Miles Davis
Sweet Exorcist- Curtis Mayfield
Bad Company- Bad Company
Roxy & Elsewhere- Frank Zappa
Nightmares and Other Tales From The Vinyl Jungle- J. Geils Band
Odds & Sods- The Who

I could have sworn Zep's Houses of The Holy and Springsteen's The Wild, The Innocent and The E-street Shuffle were released in '74. Looks like I was wrong.

K-Tel used to bring out these really neat albums. In 1975 they had:

Did you know that Ross Ryan was born in Kansas? I am Pegasus. One of the best songs ever.

I was only 9 years old in 74', three to four years before I touched a King book. Give us a break.

Whatever happened to streaking? Wasn't streaking a hot item in '74? Ray Stevens, "The Streak"...people running around nude before the ole pendulum swung back the other way and people started covering up with G-strings? Looks like a hijack...that's a big ten-four...Convoy? When was Convoy popular? CB radios...around the same time I think. That's it...this thread is getting naked and going on the radio! Next time you look out the side window there'll be a line of people in a convoy, all butt-naked, and hauling arse. The world could be a worse place.

I have quite a few of those! As soon as I started buying music (I think my first was Eagles Greatest Hits, bought when I was 8 or so), I started buying those. They're a blast from the past to look at now.
Yes, Steve Harley and the Cockney Rebel. I love Chaka Khan, she was like 'hot'. That bird in 'Baby it's you' with the white shirt and the suspenders going down the shirt. 'Owner of the lonely heart', that's 1983.

I was 7 :) I remember my brother and I (he was 5) had dance moves and pantomimes for "Kung Fu Fighting", "The Night Chicago Died", and "Band on the Run". Looking at your list now, I think I'd have to go with "Stuck in the Middle with You" and "Radar Love". Oh, and KISS's self titled debut--I still sing "Cold Gin" all the time.
My school friend at the time-Craig-who was fathered by a man from Texas-he and me and a few others at the playground used to jump around playing on our 'tennis' guitars. Life was simple back then. Mother used to make the best meals ever. People run down 'tripe', but I still love it. No one-even my wife-has ever made better Spaghetti better than my mother.

My God, Scott! You actually listened to Barry White? Barry White? Ya know, if Tracy ever kicks you outta the house you can come stay with me? I loved Barry White!!!! I was the only white boy in my area that used to listen to the great black artists at the time- Barry White, Isaac Hayes (Shut Yo Mouth! Well, I'm Talkin' 'Bout SHAFT!), Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross. Good Lord, this brings back the memories......

Remember The Rubberband Man??? Ohio Players?? Rufus featuring Chaka Khan??

My house was like that, too. Everything from Hank Sr. to Motown to Glenn Miller. No opera, but that was about it :) My kids have been raised the same way (WITH opera). It makes for interesting iPods and fun conversations.

I think Barry White is responsible for more babies than anyone on Earth and didn't even have to commit the 'act' to do it with!!!
