There are just some names that I have always remembered. Names I will never forget. This is one of them.
Jacob Wetterling.
The reason why is, he was a child abducted a month after my first son was born. It played into my mother-fear and I have never forgotten this child's name or face, not ever.
It appears they have found his remains. 27 years later.

I know. My heart aches for his parents - surely they must have held out hope that someday he might return. And such a cute kid. God bless him and his family.
This plays into the fear of every parent, does it not? Our kids made it through all the school levels without terrible predatory things visited upon them, but as parents, it was a constant terrifying undercurrent.
The heart goes out in full measure to the families who have not been so lucky.

In the next county a mom, her 18 year old son and younger sister were fishing on a floating pier. The sister fell off, mom and brother immediately jumped in to save her. The rip current was so strong that after getting his mother and sister back on the dock, the young man was swept away They found his body yesterday. So sad.
Gosh, I looked this up. I was not aware. How horrible. Unthinkable.
