Humanity has an Answer to those Horrendous 'Anti-Homeless' Spikes...and it's Brilliant
That bench is a great idea
I try to keep on top of this (try being the operative word) one, because it's a biggie:
Once there was a gentile who came before Shammai, and said to him: "Convert me on the condition that you teach me the whole Torah while I stand on one foot. Shammai pushed him aside with the measuring stick he was holding. The same fellow came before Hillel, and Hillel converted him, saying: That which is despicable to you, do not do to your fellow, this is the whole Torah, and the rest is commentary, go and learn it." - Babylonian Talmud, Shabbat 31a
If that's too much, how about this (one of James Cameron's finest pieces of writing):
The future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves.
Head spinning already?
That's Judaism for you - the ability to hold two (or more) conflicting/contradictory/irrational POV in your head, without going meshugge.
As a Jew, I know I'm responsible for myself & my community & anyone else who needs me ( I wonder whether Clotho & Lachesis are sitting at the bottom of bed though. No problemo).
Our God isn't a puppet master.
We have free will.
And the freedom to use it, as we will.
And deal with the consequences, if they are any.
Share the love, folks.
Everyone always has a little more love to spare, than they think they have.
Schluf time for Rudiroo.
I remember when this happened...
Bless those people for all they do for the critters. Thanks, Blunt- I've had a good morning cry- happy happy tears.
Yer welcome, Spidey.
Oh boy.... (Dammit Frank, I was trying hard not to well up today...) It's beautiful.
Sorry about that.
