Welcome to the SKMB :) I loved The Stand too. I like good vs evil themes - I didn't suspect the ending to go the way it went, but I read all the Narnia books without realizing who the lion was soooo....

Boy howdy, this inability to upload photos is causing me to have think of something to say instead of just slapping my usual greeting image on newbies' first threads :(

...I don't think your religious preference or lack thereof should make a whit of difference when reading this novel...I have always viewed it as White vs Black...not in a racial-but a Good/Evil way....yes, Mother Abagail is very in tune with "her Lord"...but not all who followed her to Denver were theologians....

Want to introduce myself; I love "The Stand". One of the best books I ever read.
Epic work, regardless of the fact that I am a non-believer.
