Just finished the book this past weekend and I can't say that I absolutely loved it. I know, Mr. King was dealing with his own issues at the time and it shows in the book. Some sections of the book read like they were written by a drunk. I hope Mr. King is not offended by that statement if he happens to stumble upon it.
Which book?

I really enjoyed it. Chilling in places and easy to read. Just a cozy, straightforward tale, I've read it numerous times. I also happen to think King wrote some of his best work when he was drinking (no disrespect to him).

I have not read the tommyknockers yet but I ordered a lot of books and it is included, did you enjoy the tommyknockers, no spoilers please, I have so far yet to run into any stephen king book I didn't like so far the only one I didnt quite enjoy was under the dome and even that I might give another shot
It's good to get an opinion but don't let anyone put you off. I do think the title is ridiculous, but I liked it and have read it a few times. I say just give it a try, you never know, you might love it!

I have only started reading king about 2 years ago and read I think around 8 or 9 books but tommyknockers is the only one I would not recommenend. the book is in 3 parts and the 1st part is just brilliant. the scene where he is slowing getting drunk and goes at it with the nuclear rep. those pages are priceless. but part 2 and 3 except for the last 50 pages of the book are kinda ugh. even king has said it is god aweful. he quoted on saying he wrote that with his heartbeat going 160 beats per minute on a coke and alcohol binge. probally why a lot of the book has to do with addiction. bring the main characters back sooner in part 2 and some more editing might have saved it. just my opinion.

Not my favorite SK book either, although parts of it are good. I'm a huge fan of SK's short stories - he has said on many occasions with his longer works he has difficulty ending them and the short stories don't have that issue.
