eBay is not always international. It is up to individual sellers to decide whether or not to ship to Europe. Read the auction details carefully to see whether they will ship and how much they'll charge. Shipping to Europe from the US, even for a simple book, can be fairly expensive.

I always like to order as close to home as I can. There's always the chance of packages getting lost and damage. I actually always received everything I ordered, but damaging happens quite a lot - even within my own country or from the UK.

I never quite got the auction part of ebay. Does the seller have the choice to either put his own price on it, or have potential buyers bid for it?

But in the Netherlands there is also a (online) market for second hand books and actually I found one already (even though this one seems not in the best state): Boekwinkeltjes.nl - Winter, Douglas E. - Stephen King, the art of darkness

Is the 8 page photo-album in every edition?

I've only ever bought things on ebay that the price is fixed on. From what I've seen of the auction part, someone always outbids you at the last minute. Even when it hasn't been bid on in days

In the beginning of eBay, everything was an auction. The seller picked a starting bid and things went on from there. Then they added reserved prices, which means that the high bidder only wins if they exceed an unknown price set by the seller. Then they added Buy it Now options so people could get something they really wanted if they were willing to pay the BiN price. All are options available to the seller now.

It's funny -- I've listed something for, say $29.00 and had no bids. Then I re-listed at $24.99 and ultimately sold it for $35! There's a psychology to bidding and auctioning.

The 8-page photo album is in the middle of all editions.

Might be because your starting price was too high. With bidding you always end up at a higher price, that's the idea of it. Maybe for the given item you started too high.

Is it known why Winter didn't keep updating it? He'd have to do more interviews with Stephen about the later books, and while Stephen obviously is very busy, he most likely could have found time to do more interviews if he did them before with Winter and liked the book (at least I assume Stephen likes the book).

Doug is a full-time attorney, so he simply may not have had the time to do an update.

I used to sell lots of books on ebay and this happened to me a few times. I just stopped offering the Buy-It-Now option and let it go from there.
