The trailer looks good, I hope they add the scene where Adrian Mellon gets beaten up and thrown in the river.

we'll have to wait for the next movie if they do. georgie's body isn't found at all, so they've already negated the parallels of the different gardners being the first one to each body. but i feel like having some approximation of this scene would be a good, creepy way to open the second movie without just plunging right into the phone calls

I didn't mean that I want to see homophobic violence, what I'm getting at is I think that part of the book is important in showing that the town of Derry is sour, and the town attracted Pennywise or created him. I didn't even realise that that was an actual event that happened in Bangor. If I was the filmmakers and had include the scene where Haggarty and Mellon are walking across the bridge and are confronted with the three guys, I would have Mellon being punched etc like in the book but in the movie I would have him fighting back and landing some good ones on 'Webby' and in the scuffle he accidentally falls over the bridge railing. He's got a broken nose and stuff but he's alright and makes it to the bank on the far side and then Pennywise grabs him. I hope the movie is 'dark' in atmosphere.

i understood what you meant. i didn't think you were interested in seeing it because of the homophobic part.

Okay, show of hands who here also finds it deliciously funny that Pennywise is leading a crew of dead kids in chanting "Kill them all!"

So, thoughts?

The balloon floating through the classroom.....creepy. The bluish face with yellow eyes half in and half out of the water.....creepy off the charts!!
I can't wait. I really hope the give some background on the origin of the IT creature. As a big fan of the Dark Tower mythos a tie in would be great. Maybe this guy is the keystone worlds version of Mordred?? Being a werespider mordred changed from human to spider form much like IT. I also really hope they get into the turtle stuff too. Anyway, after my painful disappoint in the Dark Tower movie, I am really looking forward to IT!!!

most of those hopes are likely to be dashed. a lot of that would be a bit difficult to translate in a meaningful way. we are going to get plenty of turtle easter eggs i imagine, but actual turtle? unlikely. origin i have no guesses on how they'll handle though, with only the few minutes we've seen so far.

....I've heard that the spider manifestation is out.....probably too metaphysical for the non-readers....

A shame...have any of you heard of shapeshifting at all in the film?? What about deadlights?

well we know for sure they're including the leper. deadlights i think there are indications of as well, hopefully we'll get something more in the way of explanation than a character just saying "deadlights" with dread in their face. i'm pretty sure you can see a subtle bit of shifting in some of the footage when the kids are getting approached in the neibolt house. i think they're just holding back everything besides the clown, because everyone knows about the clown, so they expect to see him.
