Greetings, everyone!
I'm new to the forum and relatively new to Stephen King's works. I've been on a Stephen King blitz for a little over a year now and working my way through his works in either chronological or sequential order. I would say, I'm about half way done and already planning a few re-reads.
I lost my SK virginity to "The Shining" a few years back. It was a break, sort of, from American history reading blitz. Needless to say, the book scared the living sh1t out of me. After "The Long Walk" I was hooked. Next came "IT" and I never looked back. I'm just about done with "Skeleton Crew." I've finished "The Dark Tower" and can't say I was really taken by it - fantasy is not my cup of tea.
The question, that I have, is about the 25th Anniversary edition of "IT" and the new afterword. Is there a place I can read the aforementioned afterword without buying the book?
Thanks

Welcome - like the good FlakeNoir says above - try your local library? and if they do not have it in their possession could you ask them to order it as a new book?

... I found an excerpt on the CD website...
"I worked on the book in a dream. I remember very little about the writing of it, except for the idea that I'd gotten hold of something that felt very big to me, and something that talked about more than monsters..."
— Stephen King, from the exclusive afterword for this special edition

The 25th Anniversary edition is going to be an expensive book for a library to purchase, but they may somehow be able to get you a copy of the Afterword that King specifically wrote for this edition.
Okay - I did not realize. I guess some library branches would have a bigger slush fund than others. I know ours was always willing to take suggestions. I am sure sooner or later the information he needs may show up on-line (maybe Amazon or something similar?)

It'll get to the OP somehow, someway.

mjs9153,
It is Satan in Arabic and a few other languages. It is also my nickname in real life and has been for quite some time. I felt, it was only natural, that I adopt it for my online self.
The reason I asked,is because I happened to be watching The Black Stallion on TCM last evening, and I remembered the story and series of books written by Walter Farley..it was one of my favorites as a kid,and I remembered Mr Farley using the word to describe the Black by Arabs in the series.Good name choice, enjoy the board and have fun here!
