I’ve got to see quite a lot of Men’s and Women’s Curling this time around, which I enjoy (although I had to get up at 4:00 am to see it on occasion). I also got into a discussion on the Olympics yesterday, and the topic of whom are your 5 "favorite" (not best) Olympians of all time from your country. After thinking about it I came up with Jim Thorpe, Jesse Owens, Mark Spitz, Mary Lou Retton and Bruce Jenner from the USA.

There is a widespread, virulent and fast moving strain of flu hitting Canada as we speak. By about 11:59 local time nobody will be at work.
The Toronto City Council voted to allow bars to open at 7am to accommodate hockey fans. And no Rob Ford was not the instigator. It has been done before.

My husband was working from home and on a conference call, and he put it on speaker phone.

I kept quiet through the entire game...until those last two minutes. Every now and then I'd let out a short scream. The last 10 seconds were loud and he was glaring at me. Finally he says "as you can hear I'm working from home and my wife is a hockey fan".

It is right side up for me @AnnaMarie - are you going to get up early on Sunday to watch the Men's Hockey (Canada vs. Sweden) from Sochi?

How early is it? I had originally thought the bronze game was at 7 and gold at 10. Apparently not. (Personally I think it's unfair the US doesn't get a day off between games.). So, is our game at 7 tomorrow?

I'll probably be up by then anyway. Sleeping in for me is 7:30.

A great performance from Finland.
Yes, it was. Another Olympic medal in hockey for Finland. I was pretty disappointed after the defeat against Sweden, but with all the NHL players, the Olympics is such a competitive tournament, that a medal is a great accomplishment.
I feel bad for team USA. They got a great team, but had some serious problems with scoring, two games without goals.
I think Canada is going to win gold, easily even.
