Hi all
Just an update. I've only got 4 chemo's to go now, I'm still getting tiredness etc .
I had a scare this week, on Tuesday I had a CT scan and once I got home a Doctor from the hospital rang me up to tell me that I have blood clots on both lungs !!! My treatment is to give myself a needle every day for about 3 months, it's a blood thinner. I've managed to give myself the needle without fainting !!!!
It's common to have this happen while having chemo. I've got Silverchain nurses coming to my house twice a day at the moment to check on me.
Apart from that I'm ok !!!! LOL

Hope things are okay with you - hang in there and take care of yourself aussie12 :boxing::burn_joss_stick:

Hi Shaitan
I have my 2nd last chemo this Thursday so not long to go now before it's finished. I had my annual mammogram 2 weeks ago and see the Doctor Tuesday about that. Then Thursday I see the other Oncologist then have chemo.
I have still been tired and my taste has gone so haven't been eating that well. I haven't had any problems with the blood clots in my lungs apart from back ache every now and then.
I went to work and told them I would be back early May, just part time for 2 weeks then fulltime. I need to go back to work as Sickness benefits don't pay much and I need the money.
The CT scan that I had showed that the cancer hadn't spread so that was good news.
Thanks for asking about me Shaitan I really appreiciate it.

Sounds positive and things are status quo and moving in the right direction. Be well.

Almost done then. That's good. Stay strong, it'll be over before you know it.
Will take some time to get back on your feet in terms of energy levels and etc., but you'll get there without a doubt. All the side effects will go away eventually. It took 2-3 months for tingling in my fingertips to go away completely, digestive issues resolved almost immediately, dizziness took about a month, hair started growing back very fast too. Can't say anything about food taste or appetite issues - that was just one thing that worked for me, not against me. You'll need to start light exercising - it helps a lot. I also recommend seeing a nutritionist - there are certain foods that also help you recover faster and stay healthy. Please keep us posted on your recovery. Cheers. We're rooting for you.

Hi all
I posted on one of the other threads that I had Breast Cancer in 2012. After suffering severe pain I ended up having major surgery on 27th August, I had bowel cancer plus had my ovaries out. Not 100% sure yet if I had ovarian cancer as well, I go back to my Surgeon on Tuesday to get full pathology results. Last time I didn't need chemo but I will need it this time. I also have a Colonosonmy bag for 6 months yuck.
I was in hospital for nearly 2 weeks and just got out on Monday, still feeling tired and sore. I probably won't go back to work for about 6 weeks.
I've just been catching up on this board as haven't been on for a while.
Hope that everyone has a good weekend.

Prayers sent. I hope you get better soon.

Hi all
I saw the Oncologist today about my mammogram and everything is good. I'm getting an ultra sound soon as I have a few lymph nodes under my left arm that have grown but the Doctor thinks that it should be all right.
I have my chemo Thursday, my second last.
Thanks all for your support.

Hi all
I had my ultrasound and all good under my arm with my lymph nodes.
Did my last chemo and am glad that is over with. I see the Doctor next Thursday week to get my clearance to go back to work. I haven't worked since August so it will be strange going back.
