This is a Netflix series set in the Marvel universe, although that isn't readily apparent for a while. Well, okay, you do get that impression from the opening credits, of course.
It's in the same vein as Daredevil but grittier and more brutal. There's enough brutality to be a little bit offputting to me, but it's well within the realm of acceptability in today's entertainment, and it's not pushing me away from the series.
The lead character is flawed and interesting. She's a private investigator, apparently fearless, except she has hidden abilities and a past event that does strike fear into her when it reemerges unexpectedly.
We're just two shows (I think - maybe three) into it, and we'll keep watching.
