This is a bit sad. I've always looked at Jon Stewart as one of the smartest, honest and funniest voices in our political discourse.

Just read the official press release from Comedy Central. This is a sad day indeed. Watching his show was a highlight of my day. He will be missed.

ck your Tv listings. In my area it repeats around 6:25PM and it is also avail on computer at Comedy Central.

I believe Hulu (regular Hulu, not Hulu +) has the program. It might be a day or so later but you can watch it at your convenience.

I hate to say/write this but...I hope he is leaving for a positive reason and not because he is ill or some other cruddy reason.

Has it been announced who's taking David Letterman's place? I can't recall if it was or not. Maybe he's going there? That reminds me- I have to ask for time off during Dave's last week!!!

Stephen Colbert is replacing Letterman. I believe Stewart was offered the spot but he passed.

I'm pretty sure he just wants to move on. He's been at the Daily show for 15(?) years. I think he's going to try doing other things.

That's a great idea because every other host would be compared to Jon Stewart and would come up lacking IMO. I know he wasn't the first host (Craig Kilborn was) but after 16 years he's become "the" host.

I think Colbert is going to have the same problem replacing David Letterman. I was never much of a David Letterman fan but it will be a big shift to see Colbert not in his Colbert Show persona.

I wonder how many think he will continue in the Colbert persona. He has stated it will be the "real" Colbert, but some just don't get that he was playing a "role".
