Have to agree with you there. But they still don't have the POTUS on their side (as the Dem's did), and that veto pen remains a powerful instrument.

But it appears the GOP is working with the other side, much to the consternation of many in the base. I applaud the GOP apparent working across the isle. I just with they’d work the deals knowing they had the position of strength.

And this is exactly how liberals have been feeling for the last 6 years about the Dems who keep waffling--grow a backbone dammit! ;-D The problem, as I see it, is not the support or lack of it, from the POTUS that is affecting decisions by Congress. It's the worry about whether or not they'll get campaign funding for their re-elections. They're not making decisions based on what's best for the country as a whole, but whether or not they think the decisions they make will backfire come election time. Which is one of several reasons why I think there should be term limits as it would remove that element. Not to mention repealing Citizens United.

Way to sully the comedy thread with common sense and reasonableness there Ms Mod. :)

At least I didn't correct you (again) about it being aisle not isle (an island or peninsula). Oops, guess I just did. ;;D
LOL. I always seem to do that... permanent brain fart apparently. But you are much kinder than my daughter... The Grammar Nazi Extraordinaire. She actually exhibits agonizing facial cringes. I tell here not the best way to win friends, unless you’re in an English department. :)

Seems like we all have at least one word we regularly misspell. In my school days, I was almost always the one that won the spelling bees but as I've gotten older, I find there are more times than I'd like to admit that I have to double-check words that I wouldn't have before.

Very kind of you.

But you’re slipping. After posting my comment I realized I'd left myself wide open. I fully expected a reply like “I tell here not the best way to win friends, unless you’re in an English department.”… Or an author’s website. :)

I was restraining myself and not wanting to come out in full Grammar Nazi by correcting you for typing here instead of her.
