We've had threads about this, but I'll ask you here: what's the meaning behind your screen name? I can guess, but I'd like to hear anyway. :strawberry:

I couldn't think of anything better when I created the account (son was hovering noisily about) so I figured I became a fan of Mr. King in the 80s so I went with that. Not very original, I'll admit.
What about yourself? :tickled_pink:

And here I thought you were an 80s music fan! lol
As for my screen name, I was bullied all throughout high school. I read Carrie when it first came out in paperback in 1975, which was also the first year of high school for me. Since then I have always had an affinity for Carrie and Carrie White. I did not have a religious nut for a mother, though, nor did I possess the power of telekinesis (but I wish I did!).

Hi, I've been a fan of SK since grade school (started with Cujo and I was hooked). I've read almost everything Mr. King has published and loved most of it.

My favorites are"Carrie", "11/22/63", "The Shining" and "Joyland".
Confession: I am the rare fan who couldn't get into the DT series (not for lack of trying) and the even rarer fan who didn't enjoy "The Stand".

I found this board today and signed up because I don't have any friends who are "constant readers" and have no one to geek out with about my SK obsession.
Welcome 80sFan - this is a great place to come - enjoy posting! :cheerful:

I really liked Joyland and 11/22/63 as well.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
Maybe when school starts back up for boy, I'll check a few DT books out of the library. I don't have much quiet time in summer. Took me almost 3 days to finish "Finders Keepers" ;;D
PS: lovin' the smilies on here...;;D:chew:

I actually am a fan of 80s music (don't judge, I like other stuff too!).
And I was misled by your screen name too. Completely my fault...for some reason I was thinking you were a younger teen (now) and really liked "Carrie" :)

Isn't that funny, the first thing people think when they hear 80'S is the music.. And there was some great stuff there! There were some really good movies too in the eighties, it was a good decade.. welcome to the message board eighties fan hope you have fun here!
