My name is Steven Vance. I just joined the forum. Been a fan of Stephen King since reading "Salem's Lot" in junior high. Still the scariest vampire novel I have read. I am a father of three and grandfather of five. Been with my wife for thirty+ years. We live in the greater Portland, OR area, but are planning to move to Wisconsin next year to be near our daughters and grandkids. Did nine years as a combat medic in the Army and work for the VA as a cardiac telemetry technician. Lots of others stuff. Wanted to write but put that dream aside when our son was born very, very ill (like he coded six times and had two complete blood transfusions in the first 24 hours sick). I've puttered and futzed about with out over the years but have returned to it in earnest recently. Just started writing a novel. I have a loooong way to go but it feels so good! Better late than never. Using "On Writing" as my biggest source of advice. And I'm glad to be here.

Oh - and as far as I know I am not related to the sci fi/horror author, Steve Vance.

See you all around,
Steven

Thanks to all the greetings! =D

- I'm not sure how I ended up with that .sin in my post title. Still trying to figure out how to edit things, too. I'm not as tech savvy as I'd like to be.

And just like that, the almighty Moderator wiped away your sin. Ah, I'm killing it here. I'm not exactly known for my wit. Not tech savvy here either - I still don't have a smart phone.

Welcome again, thank you for your service, and I sure hope your son recovered.
