Are there any other fans here? I know VampireLily is one. Kate is currently playing live in London (her first and only live tour was 35 years ago!) and is getting pretty rave reviews. She is playing 22 dates at one venue only. No word if she is coming to the US. It's doubtful though as she has a phobia about traveling.

Kate Bush is my all time favorite musical artist. I've followed her career from the start. Just about as long as I've read SK. These two people have been a constant in my life. It's killing me that she is performing and I won't get to see her! And the worst part? I will be in London exactly one week after her last live show! :frown-new:

My dream when I was younger was that I would get to see her in concert. Over the years I realized this might never happen and accepted it. Now, music history is being made and I am not part of it. Like I said earlier, it's killing me!

Thanks for listening/reading. :watermelon:

Oh yes, Babooshka was a huge hit for her in the UK. Great song. Kate is in her early 20s in that video.
She was discovered by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. Although she has been recording for almost 40 years, she has issued only 10 albums. She takes her time, writing all the music and lyrics, plus playing keyboards and producing. Her current stage show is more a theatrical production than a concert.

And by the way, I miscalculated and I will be in London a mere 3 days, not 7 as I first thought, after her last performance. Aaaaaaaargh!

Kate Bush is a huge talent. If my memory serves me correctly, she wrote Wuthering Heights when she was only 17-years-old or something crazy like that.

Very talented, very unique and a fine looking lady too, I might add.

If by "quirky" you mean "mad as a hatter" or "bonkers", then...yeah. :D

I saw a doc about her last week. I'd never heard her speak before. The voice and accent that came out of her was quite another shock.
But as Flat Matt said, a big talent and quite a looker. I remember seeing the vid for 'Wuthering Heights' at the time and saying to my dad "Is she pretty?"
She then slipped from memory for a time, then the 'Babooshka' video got some airplay on VH1 in the mid-90s. By then I had no doubt whatsoever. :tounge:
