For anyone to comment on: In Joshua 13 it says that Joshua was old and stricken with years, but in Joshua 14 Caleb says he was as strong in his 80's as he was in his 40's. These two men were around the same age, what do you think is the significance of the references to their physical state?

A few verses in the bible cause me to believe what is the opinion of Jesus: John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The mention of the "Word" is explained in John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." Jesus is "the Word" spoken of in Genesis. If Jesus is the Word than as it says in Luke and Matthew 4:4 " But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." The Word, in Genesis, being the preincarnated Jesus Christ and then Jesus being wrapped in flesh that He might dwell among us in the New covenant. The only record we have of the Word of God is the bible that is inspired by God as it says in 2 Tim 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." If Jesus is the Word of God He must be the written word as well as the spoken word (Logos and Rhema). If the spoken word of Jesus is rhema, that spoken word written down as logos would equally be the word of God through Jesus Christ inspired by the Holy Spirit. If one were to believe that there are errors in the bible, then you would have to believe that God is too weak to provide us with an accurate account of His will. I don't think He's weak at all.
