Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I believe "The Breathing Method" is sort of a Christmas tale, isn't it?

Okay, so here's what I would love to see King write with Christmas as a theme.

Maybe a short story/novelette sequel to "It" where It is Santa Claus (can you imagine the possibilities, with the elves, reindeer, etc.).

A story about Black Friday gone wrong (there are many out there, I think, at this point, such as the customers turn into zombies, but hey, why not do his take).

A story about people waiting in line on Christmas Eve (or maybe Black Friday again, I don't know) to get the last few remaining units of a product that every child wants...but what is it? And why are parents committing suicide if they can't get it?

By the way, a bonus idea not about Christmas but based on something that just happened: I just saw the alert notice while writing this post. At first I thought, I didn't post this yet, why would there be an alert about it (i.e., maybe someone liked it, whatever). Then I thought: what if it is an alert for something I did post...five days from now!

Having money does not always make a good Christmas. Uncle Steve just had a mom but I bet he had some good memories of the season because he was loved and he had a good brother, as well. I know of kids from well off families who dread the holiday because Dad or Mom drinks too much and there is much frighting. Some of my clients, at the homeless shelter, enjoyed the holiday there. They were offered breakfast as well as Christmas dinner with all the works. They received little gifts from the staff and from other agencies. If they drank, it was done outside and per rules. There were lots of movies to choose on the TV. Some very gifted muscians in the group would get out the guitar...or accordion ....some joined in with a harmonica. They seemed to enjoy Christmas eve a lot ,too. I would be making the stuffing and prepping the vegetables for the feast. Some other staffers would be wrapping the gifts for the clients. I actually have good memories of this. I saw a lot of smiles.

KURBEN'S POEM:

Ten little Elves said they were just fine
But one lied and then they were nine
Nine little Elves were swinging on a gate
One fell off and then they were eight
Eight little elves tried to fly to heaven
The sun burnt one and then they were seven
Seven little Elves went out to play Tricks
One got a Treat and then they were six
Six Little elves were playing on a stage live
One got crushed by the audience and then they were five
Five little elves were walking on the floor
One got stamped on and then they were four
Four little elves were dressing up the tree
one lost his balance and then they were three
Three little elves were feeding the christmas doe
One got bitten in half and then they were two
Two little elves were fooling with a gun
one got shot and then they were one
One litle elf were living all alone
He read a Kingbook and then there were none

When King heard this story he burst out in tears
I want them to be scared, not die in fears
he complained to his wife around the christmastable
I only want to do as much as i am able
Not write cosy stories in a christmas setting
Soon they want me to write a book about petting.
"There, my dear" she interrupted. You don't have to do their wishes
The only thing you have to do tonight is the dishes
So closes this scene in an ordinary christmas home
and yet we know that around the corner, in Kings mind, lurks doom!!

That's just wrong anyway but I'm sure he could really make it HORRIBLE!

I do not go out on Black Fridays. I know some look forward to the rush of that day but I find it just plan damn crazy.

I don't like crowds and I really don't like crazy azz crowds.

MadamMack, I agree. The whole shopping craziness on that day is odd to me. Yet, people do it. Isn't it funny how you always hear people talking about how to avoid crowds at, say, a Disney World or at a store...yet, who are the people who go out on that day if everyone talks about avoiding crowds? Know what I mean? I always find that curious.

I can calm you Nees... Totally correct translation. The other word is the name of one of our bigger cities which means fairly small in american terms.
Örebro contains 110.000 people which makes it the sixth biggest city in sweden.

I think something in the vein of what you described would be FANTASTIC!!!!
