An update on Pudz, as we had a follow up appointment with the Vet this afternoon.
The wound is dry, clean and healing nicely. That was the good news.
The bad news is that the healing wound is under tension because of the amount of skin that she lost, so Pudz has to wear her "lampshade" for another couple of days, and can't go out until after her next appointment which is next Monday.
The Vet was concerned that she might "worry" the wound back open, as would too much exercise.
Fortunately the "meds" make her pretty sleepy which will help, but she will hate every minute that she is awake.
But it is for the best, "cruel to be kind" and all that.

Quand le chat étreintes vous de cette manière, vous savez que vous possédez un très chic chat. C'est une bonne chose.

The continuing saga of Pudz.
I was up at 6.10 this morning and feed Pudz with her "meds" laced breakfast, and after the usual routine of petting and grooming she retired to her current favoured place of rest under the dining room table.
It is quite dark under there, and that seems to suit her current mood of grumpy cat.
At 9.40 I went out to take my better half to the hair dressers, a round trip of about half an hour, and the Pudster was still asleep in the dining room when I returned.
I made a coffee, did a few chores and around 11am Pudz appeared for a reassuring stroke before returning to the dining room.
I checked on her periodically, and around 11.30 having confirmed where she was I opened the front door, and got the mail from the porch mail box. I dealt with the letters, and as it was getting close to my second run to the Hairdressers to collect my wife I checked on Pudz.
She was no longer under the table, and neither was she on any of the dining chairs.
Okay, so she's moved to the front room, but no. Bedroom no, kitchen no, garden room no, porch no.
Double checked all her usual hidey holes everywhere, but no Pudz.
So although I was sure I checked on her after opening the front door, logic said.. well she's not in the house now, so she must have slipped past you!
Disaster, Pudz roaming free with a partly healed wound, and a "lampshade" collar.
I explained the situation to some builders working next door, and asked them to kindly keep an eye open for her in case Pudz reappeared while I went to collect my wife.
I picked my good lady up and she got in the car and asked "How's Pudz?"
I said I'm afraid I don't know, and explained what had happened. We got home, the builders had not seen anything but I still quite expected to find Pudz sitting in the hall waiting for us, but no.
My wife checked the house, nothing. We resigned ourselves to the fact that she had made her escape.
I alerted the neighbours, and walked the local area whistling for her. Nothing.
It was now 13.05 and Pudz had been AWOL for close to an hour and half. So I decided to advise the Vet's where she is registered because if she was found wandering by anyone, the collar would indicate she was under going treatment, and be a possible line of enquiry.
The Vet took her details and added her to their "Missing" list. Pudz is micro-chipped so is easily traceable.
I told my wife what I'd done, and again said I still can't believe that she got past me.
I checked the house again, and eureka. In a six inch gap behind some floor standing cassette racks, under an old desk, there she was curled up asleep!:cheerful:
So the builders, neighbours and the Vet got a laugh at my expense, but thank goodness Pudz was safe.
Little minx!
