Orson Welles double feature Shakespeare night TCM last Friday, OTHELLO, followed by MACBETH. Cat knew his moviemakin, tell ya.

Then kinda binge watching box set THREE STOOGES every freakin short they made, various other 'rare' shorts, cartoons, feature films--like, everything, dig, digitally remastered--stuff looks brand new.

Freakin Curly Howard is a genius.

Think it's time to hit the Drive-Inn and catch up on some flicks. We still have a couple, one just down the 'rud a piece--big sucker, boasts four screens, and you better get there well before sundown if you wanna get in at all. Place gets packed.

But that's the way to do it...ah, all the comforts of one's own vehicle, the freedom. Smoke if you got em. They're showing Avengers AND Mad Max right now--same time, separate screens, though. Got that Ex Machina following Max, probably do that double first. Loves me them robot chicks.

Four screens is a bit much, really--especially during the annual dusk-till-dawn closer; a sea of vehicles, late August heat--the creeps and the crawlies slithering about, dispensing various clan destine oddities amongsts themselves; the vauge sense of displaced aggression simmering from speaker-pole to speaker-pole; rival gangs battling in the lanes with broken bottles and used corndog sticks; rabid stray dogs sniffing around the snack bar, marking territory. Like the parking lot at Altamont, tell ya.

Drive-ins are a dying breed--we have to enjoy them while we can :) We have a 4 screen drive-in here, too, but Max is playing with some dumb-ass Will Ferrell movie. I WISH it was Ex Machina :p

Most of them have been converted over to flea markets on the weekends now.

Yep. Ours is a flea market on Sat and Sun mornings. You used to be able to drive around to a different second movie if the one you paid for stank, but now they kick you out for the season if you get caught :( I'd be in geek heaven if they had a Mad Max/Age of Ultron double feature :lurve:

Edna was voiced by director Brad Bird, and based on legendary costume designer Edith Head. I think it's a coincidence that she looks a bit like Linda Hunt, google Edith Head and you'll see that the visual is obviously based on her.
I'm afraid to Google anything that has the word head in it......
