I think some of the acting was 'stage acting', KWIM? They played it big, like it was for distance, not camera work. I notice that in a lot of old movies, but I don't care12 Angry Men.
What a good movie that was. I could have some factual nitpicks, but what's the point? It's a movie! And darned good one. Some of the acting is probably overplayed for today's audiences, but that's an after-the-fact observation. i enjoyed it all the way through.
Henry Fonda was understated, and thank you. Lee J. Cobb ran away with the rage-fueled acting chops. And the old man was the most interesting one there.

You know, 12 Angry Men was adapted from a play.It certainly had the look and feel of a stage play, translated to screen. 95% of the movie in one room.
