Watched the movie Atlas Shrugged (Parts 1 & 2) on Netfilx today waiting out the snow storm. Absolutely riveting! A glimpse into the potential future of America. Directive 10-289, wow, scary stuff and so believable! Part 3 doesn't come out till some time in 2014... man, they shouldn't be allowed to do that and leave us hanging. Don't know if I can wait till the next installment and will have to read Ayn Rand's book in the meantime.

Also watched Red 2 last night. What a disappointment from the original... Red.

Getaway - Ethan Hawke

I've always liked Ethan Hawke movies but this one is easily the worst one I've seen him in. Ethan is terribly miscast in this. This movie is basically a 90 minute car chase with cookie cutter characters. The whole movie is a car chase and the car chase scenes aren't even very good (the scenes are too frantic). Horrible story and horrible characters and his co-star is Selena Gomez. What were you thinking Ethan?

I just saw "Before Midnight" last week and thought it was great. After Ethan's performance in that, I wasn't quite ready for this steaming pile of ... well, you know. I guess maybe Getaway was to make money so he could do movies like Before Midnight which I'm sure make nothing.

One of my kids was inducted into the National Honor Society tonight. Had a couple of hours to kill beforehand. Watched Olympus Has Fallen. If you like suspenseful action movies you've got to see it. Good storyline, excellent cast, nonstop excitement, and special effects were primo!
Congrats to DiO jr!

I watched Batman Forever for the fourth or fifth time last night. Prior to that I hadn't seen it in ages. Not as good as the uper-tier Batman films (Batman 89, Returns, Dark Knight, Dark Knight Rises) but still a good movie. Val Kilmer is my favourite live-action Batman, just edging out Keaton, Bale and West (all good Batmen).

Saw "Frozen" in 3D at the movie theatre. It was a rare night out for hubby and me - just the two of us. I know - it is a Disney movie and geared towards young girls, but still good nevertheless. The singing was very good, as were the special effects or animation. Actually it was beautiful. Some scenes were quite funny too!

I watched The Big Lebowski for the first time. I had seen bits and pieces before, but this was the first time I watched it beginning to end. Very cute.
I like that one too - though it took me a few times to 'get it" all. Sometimes I have a hard time with cerebral comedy, if you know what I mean. If I am watching for laughs, I try not to think too hard.
