Ben Afleck will make a fine Batman. When it comes to the Dark Knight, you need only have two concerns--does the suit look cool, and will the director respect the material. As for Fleck's acting chops, check him at as 'Superman' George Reeves in HOLLYWOODLAND. Good flick.

I trust Zack Snyder. I think Superman/Batman looks killer. Definitely taking cues from Frank Miller's brilliant DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.
I trust Snyder to do one thing -put eye-catching visuals on screen. Let him anywhere near a typewriter, and he's a menace (I cite Sucker Punch, and a Superman movie with an imposter, not Superman, and Pa Kent who was the exact opposite of what Pa Kent should be).

I've seen only a few Ben Affleck movies, and have found him a good actor in all of them so far. I like him a lot in Gone Girl.

Runaway Train. Jon Voigt and Eric Roberts. The movie's been around a long time and I haven't been interested until last night. I'm glad I watched it. Really incredible camera work and stunts. I loved the bleak, frozen landscape, though I think one might need to be in the right mood for it.

Liked Man of Steel about as much as any Superman flick--meaning I don't much care for Superman. I'm thinking S vs B will be pretty decent, provided Zack doesn't over-do the slow-mo.

Experimenter (Netflix)) In 1961, famed social psychologist Stanley Milgram conducted a series of radical behavior experiments that tested ordinary humans willingness to obey authority.

There was an interesting fiction movie on Netflix or quite a while called The Experiment. Adrian Brody and Forrest Whittaker were the main characters. It was based upon an experiment where normal people were put in a prison setting and randomly (maybe) divided into prisoners and guards. The test was how each group would respond to their respective roles. It was supposed to last a couple of months, but only went a couple of weeks because people did not respond well--lol. It was a good movie, I thought.

I was in a school play - 1066 And All That - with the late Anthony Minghella. He was The Common Man (the lead character) and I was the Duke Of Marlborough (one of 100-odd other minor characters). He would have known the tower in my avatar very well, it's in his home town.
WOW! His movies are beautifully shot and literate. He must have been an interesting man.

I'm not a fan of Ben Affleck, but when I found out he was playing Nick Dunne, I thought he was a perfect choice. In the book (which is one of my favorite reads) "Lance" (Nicks real first name) is described as looking like an arrogant frat boy, and I've always thought that's what he looks like.
The movie did the book no justice, but I still think Ben was a great fit for the role of D-bag husband.

I'll have to look for that one. I love me some Eric Roberts.
