I remember going to the movies in 1970(?) with my mother and cousin to see Jagger in 'Ned Kelly' and I saw it about ten years ago and he's not very good in it in my opinion.

I went to see it when it came out, too. Didn't like it or him. Checked it out on cable a few months ago and my opinion hasn't changed.

I checked out the BBC adaptation of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell from the library today--did anyone watch it when it was on TV? I read the book years ago, and I'm pretty sure I liked it, but I can't remember much about it.

Wildlike (2014)

Excellent indie film about a girl who is sent to live with her uncle in Alaska because of drug troubles her single mother is having. The Uncle turns out to be a molester and the girl runs away. She is alone in Juneau, Alaska and she doesn't know anyone or have anywhere to go. She starts following a solo backpacker (who is dealing with grief) who reluctantly lets her tag along (he actually has no choice because of their location). During the hiking trip through the wilderness, they slowly learn about each others troubles.

It's not really as much of a downer as my description sounds like ;-D. There are a couple of scenes in the first 15 minutes of the movie that are difficult to watch but once you get past that, you should like this.

Oh. Em. Gee.

The Man Who Wasn't There. (Hoopla)

A laconic, chain-smoking barber blackmails his wife's boss and lover for money to invest in dry cleaning, but his plan goes terribly wrong.

Why have I never heard of this movie? Why did no one turn me onto it? The Coen Brothers totally rock.

Before and After (Hoopla)

Two parents deal with the effects when their son is accused of murdering his girlfriend.

After the first couple of moral quandaries it got a little tedious for me. And I kept hissing at the the goofy mother and father. Goodness, stop trying to help. You're NOT helping. :joyous:

Marat/Sade (1967) or, it's full title, The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade. Yeah. One of those flicks. This is one mindscrew of a movie, and it sure ain't for everybody. Not because it's raunchy, no...I know, you see de Sade in the title and yer thinking ol Muskie just watching dirty stuff again. Nay, never think it. This is, pretty much, what that long complicated title claims. An adaption of the Tony award winning play, featuring a mesmerizing Patrick Magee as a haunted and morose de Sade. Think Philosophy Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. Thoughts and ideas to drive one mad.

In the process of watching Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces. I've never seen this one. Watching Jack is mesmerizing, so that's what's keeping this interesting and the fact there are a lot of recognizable faces.
Watch for Fannie Flagg. She's the red head that's always chewing gum for some reason. Really country sounding. There's a bowling scene that I remember. I'll wait until you watch it to avoid spoilers.

Yes, saw the bowling scene. I'm about halfway through. Karen Black, Sally Struthers (you see nekkid breasticles with those two. Sort of surprised me that meathead's sweet wife would be flashing boobage.)
