13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
Very good movie. It follows the book pretty closely and you get a good feel for the bond these ex-spec ops guys had to form quickly in order to do what they did. They definitely brought the hate to the attackers in Benghazi in a major way. Impressive special effects and the guys who played the soldiers did a great job.

Annie Hall. Four stars, always a treat.

At the Circus. Ohhhh, Lydia, oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia? Lydia the TAH-ah-tooed lady...yes. Another treat. Four 'honk!'s.

A Quiet Place in the Country. ??? A young Franco Nero thinks his crumbling villa is haunted, goes crazy, and dismembers Vanessa Redgrave. Oh, wait, no he doesn't. Two meatballs.

Breakfast at Tiffany's. Watchable, I guess. George Peppard gets Audrey Hepburn in the end. I love it when a plan comes together. Bah, I pity the fool. You know it won't last. Two doughnuts.

Hannah and her Sisters. Well, it ain't no Annie Hall. Watchable, though. Two neurotics.

That's all I can remember right now.

What do you mean, thats all you can remember? Is this your christmas tv viewing list? Did you get stoned and lose the tv remote while the TMC channel was on, and you just couldnt muster up the will power to lift up your saggy arse from the butt imprint on your sofa?

Ghostbusters remake, LilMan's choice. A bit of not much. Melissa McCarthy didn't annoy me as much as she usually does, but Kate Mckinnon more than made up for it--she was AWFUL. Wiig was as boring as she always seems to be. Chris Hemsworth was the best part--he was funny! Leslie Jones was better than I expected as well. Dull movie, on the whole, with a few good lines. Meh.

as for Bill murrays cameo - well I hope he hangs his head in shame. not what the fans wanted at all.

Weird Truman Capote gig, right? Wonder what he was thinking? Just a yawn of a movie all around.

I went to see RED DOG: TRUE BLUE last night. its a prequel to red dog, and bits were filmed where i am in Perth Australia. If you enjoyed the first one, the true journey of the dog himself (think Benji or Lasie) then you might like this, although the dog is pretty much in the background for a lot of the movie. The movie is more about the kid than the dog.

yeh, already forgotten skimom. I actually watched it again the other night, and what you thought was funny(Hemsworth and the glassless glasses gag) is actually very cringy on a second viewing. And that was probably the best gag in the movie.

I wasn't thinking of any particular bit. He just had fun with the part--he didn't seem like he was forcing humor OR pathos, and that was an issue for me with the other characters. Their acting often stood up and shouted, "Look at me! I'm acting!"Hemsworth's part was stupid as hell (lol), but he relaxed into it and made that enjoyable, for me anyway. I think he's a much better actor than he gets credit for, probably because he's pretty.

I didn't know you were based in Perth, Sheemie! My best bestie is a native (though she works FIFO and flies to and from Barrow Island for her job). She owns a couple of flats in the city. It sounds like a great town!
